Injection molder Fischbach USA Inc. will invest nearly $8.7 million in its 80,000-square-foot plant in Elizabethtown, Ky.
The investment will include upgrades in injection molding and decorating equipment for a unique line of rigid packaging for frozen food, General Manager Kirk Chadwick said in an Oct. 21 telephone interview. He would not provide additional details.
The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority said in a news release Fischbach will receive about $2 million in state tax incentives for the expansion, which is to include a new food-packaging line.
The company the North American subsidiary of Engelskirchen, Germany-based Fischbach AG manufactures cartridge systems, nozzles, plungers and accessories for the adhesives market, as well as filling machinery with multicomponent dosing.
Fischbach has grown dramatically over the past decade, and we are poised for continued and sustained growth over the next 10 years as well, Chadwick said in an Oct. 20 news release. We are excited about the partnership that we have formed with the state that allows us to continue to reinvest in our Elizabethtown facility to protect existing jobs and to allow us to expand our manufacturing base by moving into new markets.
Fischbach USA, which has been in Elizabethtown since 1992 and employs 76, expects the investment to be completed by January 2012.
In addition to the U.S. and Germany, parent company Fischbach AG operates eight facilities in Belgium, England, Spain, China and South Korea.
