Medical-device maker Kelcourt Plastics Inc. is expanding into Europe, with a new medical tubing plant in Tullamore, Ireland.
The plant will employ 55 and make specialized tubing for a variety of medical uses.
PPC Industries Inc. of Pleasant Prairie, Wis., bought Kelcourt on Dec. 21. PPC makes flexible packaging for medical, food and industrial customers. PPC said it has a growing presence in Europe and is considering options for flexible film conversion in the Kelcourt plant in Ireland.
We searched for the right location to establish an operation to meet the demand for our medical and speciality tubing capability, as well as our packaging capabilities in Ireland, said Patrick Mickle, president of San Clemente-based Kelcourt, in a news release.
Kelcourt operates more than 30 extrusion lines in three locations in the U.S. and one in Singapore.
Privately held PPC has plants in Wisconsin and Costa Rica that extrude, print and convert flexible packaging. PPC also makes medical-grade tubing.
