Danish injection molder Plast Team A/S is taking aim at new business in the North American market, with new products branded under the Pantone name.
The company, headquartered in the Copenhagen suburb of Nærum, already is a big player in the European housewares industry with storage and food containers, baskets, hangers, cleaning buckets and other items sold throughout the region. Plast Team also makes Lego-brand storage products.
Now it is looking at expanding its markets globally, especially in the U.S., with colorful items under the Pantone brand.
Pantone is most widely known as a color forecasting specialist, and Plast Team is focusing on color for the new line, said Peter Skouboe, business development director, during an interview at the International Home + Housewares show, held March 6-8 in Chicago.
So the Pantone options include bold colors, for those who want to make a statement, but also white products with just a hint of colorful trim, for those who want a more minimal look, he said.
The line is aimed at consumers who cannot afford to invest in new furniture, but want to brighten up their homes with color, he said.
We really want [consumers] to be able to inspire themselves in their rooms in new ways, Skouboe said.
