Hamish Champ has been named editor of PRW, the leading U.K. plastics and rubber industry publication and part of the Plastics News Global Group stable of titles published by Crain Communications Inc.
Champ is an accomplished business-to-business journalist with 16 years' experience gained at leading titles in the accountancy, music, and food and drinks sectors. He has previously been editor of Music Business International and most recently served as city and business editor at The Publican, a weekly magazine for pub owners and managers.
I am delighted to welcome to our team an editor of Hamish's skill and experience, said Steve Crowhurst, publishing director in Crain's office in Croydon. We take great pride in the high quality of journalists and editors working on the Plastics News Global Group publications and I'm sure Hamish will only add to what is already a strong editorial setup.
Plastics News Global Group publishes Plastics News in the United States, PRW and European Plastics News in Europe, and the digital PN China eWeekly in Chinese and English. The group also organizes leading plastics industry conferences in Europe, North America and China, plus the annual Plastics Design & Moulding exhibition and Plastics Industry Awards in the United Kingdom.
As editor of PRW, Champ also will contribute to the development of the company's events, online products and fast-growing product portfolio.
He will replace David Eldridge, who will become editor of European Plastics News, the leading English-language magazine and website for the pan-European plastics industry. Eldridge replaces Chris Smith, who is leaving the company.
Eldridge will seek to build on the success of EPN's in-depth coverage of the European plastics industry, including its Data Reports on the top processors, launched last year.
His role also encompasses Product Design + Innovation, a new London conference for industrial designers, and its attendant news and blog website, pdesigni.com.
