Pexco LLC has expanded into extruded plastic landscape edging products with the acquisition of Patrician Products Inc. of Hicksville, N.Y.
Atlanta-based Pexco bought the firm for undisclosed terms April 5. Patrician bolsters Pexco's extruded fencing business as well as launches Pexco into edging items sold at major home and garden retailers and through commercial distributors.
This strategic acquisition further solidifies Pexco's fence product capabilities and expands the application of our custom business into lawn and garden, Pexco CEO Neil Shillingford said in a news release.
Patrician runs one production plant in Hicksville. Pexco spokesman Matthew Robida said he could not comment on whether the Hicksville facility will continue operating under his firm. Before the deal, Pexco operated seven plants in the United States and Mexico.
Pexco makes standard and custom products for fencing, aerospace, retail, traffic safety, medical and lighting. Shillingford said in an interview last year that Pexco runs 126 extruders, 51 co-extruders and seven sheet lines. It also has two class 100,000 clean rooms. It is owned by Saw Mill Capital LLC.
Patrician, founded in 1953, makes a wide range of extrusion-based products for the fence and landscaping trade and for consumers.
Lowe's and The Home Depot are two retailers carrying the company's items. Its products will be integrated into Pexco's PDS line of fence products which provide privacy and security while enhancing the aesthetics of chain link and ornamental fences. Patrician officials declined a request for an interview.
Patrician's national sales manager Ken Ilvento is joining Pexco to represent fence filler and landscaping products.
Shillingford stated in a news release that Pexco will continue to grow internally and by acquisition in domestic markets.
