Fawn Industries Inc. is forming a new subsidiary called Intelligent Technical Solutions LLC to offer consulting services to companies needing program management and development services.
Ron Wilhelm, a longtime industry veteran with engineering and business development experience, is the president of the newly formed company. He also serves as a vice president of Timonium, Md.-based Fawn.
In the last 11/2 years we saw where the experience is needed, Wilhelm said.
Some companies, he noted, downsized by eliminating or cutting their design and engineering staffs. Others tried to do projects without the necessary expertise. Wilhelm said ITS is flexible and offers services including product and tooling design, tool construction, process setup, facility startups and technology transfers.
ITS, which operates independently of Fawn Industries, provides support for companies that don't want to use a custom injection molder like Fawn. ITS even helps companies set up their own operations.
As an example, Wilhelm said, ITS can work with a South American or Asian company looking for a technology transfer so it can do its own processing in its own country.
Wilhelm said ITS is flexible and its services can reduce the expense required to staff a program through its initial stages.
ITS also offers companies the option of working with Fawn Industries, which has facilities in North Carolina; Chihuahua, Mexico; and Shenzhen, China. It also has a sales and engineering office in Allen Park, Mich.
