Geobra Brandstätter GmbH & Co. KG, the German maker of Playmobil toys, has ordered 12 tiny Boy XS injection molding machines, each with 11 tons of clamping force.
Fernthal-based Dr. Boy GmbH & Co. KG announced the news in April.
The machinery purchase will give Playmobil 27 Boy XS presses and a total of 72 Boy injection molding machines. Playmobil follows an integrated manufacturing system, molding parts and packaging them for shipment.
Boy introduced the Boy XS micromolding press in 2009. We were also inspired by the visions of Geobra when developing the Boy XS, said Alfred Schiffer, Boy's managing director.
After testing the new machine, Geobra Brandstätter originally ordered 15 Boy XS presses. The order for a dozen more followed recently.
