The Society of Plastics Engineers named five honored service members and five fellows, during an award ceremony May 1 at Antec in Boston.
Honored service members have demonstrated long-term, outstanding service to SPE. Since this status was established in 1992, 298 SPE members have become honored service members.
This year's honored service members, and the section or division that sponsored the candidate, are:
Earl W. Balthazar III, Color & Appearance Division.
Ken Braney, European Thermoforming Division.
Gregory Campbell, Extrusion Division.
Joseph Duska, Palisades/New Jersey Section.
Irvin Poston, Detroit Section.
Fellows have contributed to the field of plastics engineering, science or technology. Candidates must be senior SPE members for at least six years. Since the status was started in 1984, 286 members have been elected as fellows. This year's honored fellows are:

Furong Gao of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Injection Molding Division.
David Kazmer of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, Injection Molding Division.
Andrew Peacock of Tredegar Film Products, Thermoplastic Materials & Foams Division.
Kalyan Sehanobish of Dow Chemical Co. Engineering Properties & Structure Division.
