NOVARA, ITALY (July 6, 11:55 a.m. ET) — Amut SpA, a Novara-based company that makes extrusion, thermoforming and recycling equipment, is adding to its recycling holdings with the acquisition of Comer Engineering srl.
Comer, based in Treviso, Italy, builds equipment and plants for sorting and treating waste, including plastics and tires. Amut's related business makes equipment for washing and recycling thermoplastics.
According to a July 6 news release, Amut and Comer have worked together in the past, and Amut expects technical and commercially synergy from the acquisition. As a result of the deal, Amut is creating an Amut Ecotech unit, which will focus on recycling urban solid waste.
According to the release, the unit has started its activities, and has already received orders valued at 10 million euros.
