ST. LOUIS, MICH. (July 7, 3 p.m. ET) — Plastic parts painting special Plasti-Paint Inc. will expand into the southeastern United States, investing $3.7 million on a new plant in Franklin, Ga.
Plasti-Paint, based in St. Louis, Mich., does not mold plastics, but instead provides Class A surfaces including complex shapes and metallics for the auto, agricultural, recreational vehicle and office furniture industries. It opened in 1990 and expanded to Dewitt, Iowa, in 2000.
The new Franklin plant will employ up to 60 people during the next two years. The company is refurbishing and adding square footage to an existing building in Franklin, which is near the Alabama border, the state of Georgia announced in a July 7 news release.
The new location will give it access to customers in the area and the expanding manufacturing base in the region, state officials said.
