LYNDHURST, N.J. (July 8, 3:15 p.m. ET) — Sigma Stretch Film has purchased a blown film line from Davis-Standard LLC for Sigma's plant in Shelbyville, Ky.
According to a July 7 news release from Davis-Standard, the three-layer production line will support Sigma's growing business and is similar to a line purchased in 2008. It is slated for a mid-2011 installation.
According to Pawcatuck, R.I.-based Davis-Standard, all machine modules will be pre-wired to reduce installation time and cost.
Lyndhurst, N.J-based Sigma installed a similar line in its Tulsa, Okla., plant in 2009.
Sigma has five North American plants, in Lyndhurst; Shelbyville; Tulsa; Riverside, Calif., and Belleville, Ontario. The company is a unit of Lyndhurst-based Sigma Plastics Group, one of North America's largest film producers.
