VALLEY FORGE, PA. (July 12, 4:35 p.m. ET) – Peter Dachowski plans to retire as president and CEO of building products maker CertainTeed Corp., effective Aug. 31. He will be replaced by John Crowe, currently the president of parent company Saint-Gobain's global abrasives business.
Dachowski joined CertainTeed in 1976, where he led growth in the company's roofing, ventilation, siding and window businesses. In 1996 he was appointed president of Saint-Gobain's global insulation business, based in Paris.
Dachowski returned to North America as president and CEO of CertainTeed in 2004.
CertainTeed is the No. 4 extruder in North America on Plastics News' recent ranking of pipe, profile and tubing extruders. The company's extruded building products include deck and railing, conduit, fencing, pipe, and vinyl siding.
In a July 12 news release, CertainTeed said that Dachowski “has led key initiatives focused on quality, innovation and sustainability that have positioned the company as a major player in both residential and commercial building products.”
