MUSKEGON, MICH. (July 13, 3 p.m. ET) — Thermoformer and sheet extruder Ameriform Inc. has made it through restructuring and now is about to invest $2 million in new equipment and an expansion.
The Muskegon, Mich., city commission approved a tax break for the company's planned improvement, which includes an expected 15 new jobs for Ameriform, which also includes paddle boat and outdoor equipment supplier KL Industries and portable toilet maker Five Peaks.
Ameriform was forced into receivership in 2009 to restructure, but President Dan Harris told the Muskegon Chronicle that the firm is now back on solid footing and seeing record growth. The new equipment and expansion will help support that growth.
The city commission approved an eight-year tax break for personal property expenses to help finance the expansion, and a 12-year break on real property, city officials said.
