PARSIPPANY, N.J. (July 22, 12:30 p.m. ET) – Purging compound supplier Sun Plastech Inc. recently celebrated its 15th anniversary. The Parsippany-based subsidiary of Asahi Kasei Chemicals Corp. noted that it has quadrupled its business since 1996, when it started with nine employees.
Sun Plastech started selling Asaclean purging compounds imported from Japan. It started local manufacturing in 2001.
The company is the first overseas subsidiary of Asahi Kasei Chemicals that is run by local management. Glenn Kornfeld was promoted to president in 2004 after the Japanese predecessor returned to Japan. Joseph Serell was appointed as vice president in 2007.
“It has been very exciting and gratifying to see the success of Asaclean throughout our first 15 years,” Kornfeld said in a news release.
