A Chinese film manufacturer has ordered a KraussMaffei Berstorff line to make ethyl vinyl acetate film for solar panels.
EVA film is embossed on both sides and used to cover highly sensitive silica slices on the photovoltaic panels, and all electrical connections between the individual cells. KraussMaffei Berstorff, of Hanover, Germany, did not identify the Chinese customer.
The production line includes a co-rotating twin-screw extruder and a flexible PlanetCalander smoothing unit. The film must exhibit precise embossing, extremely low shrinkage, excellent adhesion, long service life and outstanding optical features.
