Bangalore-based extrusion equipment supplier Steer Engineering Pvt. Ltd. plans to open an applications development center in Turkey.
The center will be set up in the 2011-12 fiscal year in Istanbul to serve customers in Turkey and Europe, said CEO Satish Padmanabhan.
“We have conducted a road show about eight months back in Istanbul and received an enthusiastic response,” Padmanabhan said.
The center will carry out machine trials and testing for customers.
Steer has manufacturing, subassembly units and technology centers in America, Europe, China and Japan.
Meanwhile, Steer has introduced an upgraded version of its Omega H Class co-rotating twin-screw extruder.
“It has application in biopolymers, long-fiber-reinforced thermoplastics, halogen-free flame-retardant compounds, compounds of all engineering polymers, nanocomposites, impact-modified polypropylene, natural fiber-filled material, and others,” said technical manager Durgesh Bakshi, in an interview at the recent Plastomotive show in Pune, India.
