GREENWOOD, IND. (Augt. 8, 2:10 p.m. ET) — Endress+Hauser Group, the Swiss automation and sensor maker, opened a new, 12,000-square-foot plant in Greenwood in mid-June to produce temperature sensors, thermowells, transmitters, recorder, flow computers, safety barriers, displays and other instrumentation.
The operation, Endress+Hauser USA will allow the company to meet increasing demand from North and South America. “Sales of our temperature instruments in North America have increased by 40 percent so far in 2011,” said Hans-Peter Blaser, general manager of Endress+Hauser UA.
North America recorded the company's strongest growth of any region in 2010, even outpacing Asia.
“The continuing expansion of our manufacturing capabilities in the U.S. demonstrates our commitment to serving the North American market,” Blaser said. “We now manufacture, service and calibrate instruments for the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Brazil from our facilities in Indiana.”
