SOUTHFIELD, MICH. (Aug. 10, 3 p.m. ET) — Matt Simoncini, senior vice president and chief financial officer, has been named Lear Corp.'s new president and CEO, effective Sept. 1.
Simoncini, who will also join the Southfield-based auto supplier's board of directors, replaces Bob Rossiter, who will remain in an advisory role until May 2012.
Rossiter, who reorganized the company after a brief Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2009, will leave the company after 40 years of service.
Born and raised in Detroit, Simoncini earned a bachelor's degree from Wayne State University and is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. In addition to his responsibilities at Lear, he is a trustee for VIP Mentoring and also a member of the United Way for Southeastern Michigan Campaign Committee.
Simoncini began his career at Touche Ross and is a certified public accountant.
