HIGHAM FERRERS, ENGLAND (Aug. 15, 10:15 a.m. ET) — UK-based rigid packaging producer RPC Group plc has sold its Bramlage Verschlüsse wines and spirits closures manufacturing operation in Lohne, Germany, to Rauh GmbH & Co KG. The value of the assets sold was 2.9 million euros.
RPC Bramlage Verschlüsse's product range includes natural and synthetic corks as well as aluminum and special closures. The company achieved sales of 7 million euros in the financial year 2010/2011 with an earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of 300,000 euros.
Küps, Germany-based Rauh makes bottle caps and closures for customers including breweries, wine bottlers and soft drinks manufacturers. The two companies have been working as partners since 2006, with Rauh supplying roll-on aluminum closures to RPC Bramlage Verschlüsse.
