MONROE, MICH (Aug. 17, 1:45 p.m. ET) — Consulting firm Oak Tree Consulting LLC recently completed work on a pair of new compounding plants in India.
Monroe, Mich.-based OTC designed and installed a plant in Pune for Alloy Polymers Inc. and a specialty compounding in Kashipur for Flexituff International Ltd., OTC President Subodh Sharma said in a recent news release.
The Alloy plant has initial annual capacity of almost 9 million pounds. Richmond, Va.-based Alloy eventually may have more than 30 million pounds of capacity in Pune, Sharma said.
For Flexituff, OTC also installed a plant with almost 9 million pounds of annual capacity. Flexituff — based in Pithampur, India — plans to install additional lines in the future.
OTC provided complete turn-key solutions at both sites, Sharma said, starting with feasibility studies and moving on to site selection, commissioning, start-up and training.
Sharma — a native of India who has almost 30 years of plastics industry experience — said OTC plans to open an office near Pune later this year.
OTC previously completed a polypropylene compounding plant in Altamira, Mexico, for LyondellBasell Industries. The 9-year-old firm also has done additional engineering work for Alloy and for Asahi Kasei Plastics North America of Fowlerville, Mich.
