COLUMBIA, MD (Aug. 17, 1:40 p.m. ET) — A simple “Thumbs up or thumbs down” strategy is helping Informous Inc. fine-tune the number and quality of sales leads that its website offers packaging and plastics industry viewers.
The B2B content company unveiled its trademarked LeadIQ new lead generation platform on Aug. 16, according to President and CEO Len Ostroff, to provide a more interactive experience that allows for feedback.
“There's a lot of lead generation companies out there that throw out as much information as they can, but it is not a lead unless there is someone who expresses a real interest in buying something,” he said.
The new platform allows a subscriber to optimize its choices with a simple “thumbs up or thumbs down” process. This way, a customer screens out unwanted choices.
The new platform took about three months to develop, according to Ostroff. He said that packaging and plastics companies can post marketing and sales information for free. The search platform allows businesses to reach highly targeted audiences.
Columbia-based Informous said it has about 50,000 unique visitors per month. It uses a proprietary Amazon-style recommendation engine, enabling visitors to relevant products and popular searches. Content can be viewed immediately with the need for a download or registration.
Ostroff said that the feedback during trials has been very favorable and that the site traffic continues to grow monthly.
