Dow Chemical Co. has made some changes in the executive ranks of its plastics units.
Glenn Wright is now business vice president of Performance Packaging for the Midland-based firm. The unit has annual sales of $8 billion and is part of Dow Performance Plastics.
The new Performance Packaging unit represents a shift away from an asset-based approach to a market/value chain orientation, Dow said in an Aug. 15 news release. The unit focuses on flexible food packaging.
Wright has more than 25 years of market experience, joining Dow when it merged with Union Carbide Corp. in 2001. He has been Dow's commercial vice president for North America Plastics.
Mauro Gregorio — a 27-year Dow veteran — was named commercial vice president of Performance Plastics North America and business vice president for Performance Plastics' Hygiene & Medical global business unit. In the dual role, Gregorio will oversee a portfolio with annual sales of $6 billion.
Most recently, he was commercial vice president of plastics in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
