MEXICO CITY (Aug. 24, 1:20 p.m. ET) — The Society of the Plastics Industry Inc has launched an unprecedented marketing campaign in Latin America for NPE 2012, the show's 27th edition.
It's “a more ambitious [marketing] program than for any previous NPE,” Bob Martino, the show's press spokesman, told Plastics News.
Martino said the campaign involves “cooperation with the press and other entities in Latin America.”
Latin American visitors comprised 25 percent of international attendees at recent NPEs, Washington-based SPI said last year.
The triennial show will be held for the first time in Orlando, Fla., in April and again in 2015, after 40 years in Chicago.
Washington-based SPI claims moving the show to Florida will mean significant savings for exhibitors and attendees alike, particularly those from Latin America.
NPE2012 will feature prominently at Plastimagen México 2011, in Mexico City in early October, said Martino, head of Martino Communications Inc., of New York.
“The timing of Plastimagen is fortunate for NPE2012 marketing,” he said. “It [Plastimagen] will take place just weeks after SPI rolls out visitor registration for NPE2012 and presents initial information on its educational program.”
