Spartanics Ltd. has developed a turnkey, digital, print-to-laser cutting system for designers of printed labels and packaging, plastic nameplates and other plastic items that involve digital printing or last cutting.
Spartanics' system allows product developers to use their rastor image process (RIP) software at the pre-press level to specify not only print but also laser cutting files to complete the product. Traditional laser cutting lines may require input of vector-based files during setup, according to the company, based in Rolling Meadows, Ill.
The Spartanics turnkey system also enables the use of bar codes to signal job changeovers, allowing uninterrupted, continuous production lines when doing short-run jobs.
The company will debut the product at LabelExpo Europe, scheduled for Sept. 27-30 in Brussels.
