C.W. Brabender Instruments Inc.'s electrically heated Prep-Mill is a heavy-duty machine designed for small-scale milling of elastomeric and thermoplastic materials.
The Prep-Mill drive is designed to provide high torque output from a 2.5-horsepower, sensorless vector drive with built-in protection from torque overload. Dial gauges over the rolls accurately determine the roll-gap setting.
For safety, the mill has an operator trip bar over the mill rolls, two operator kick plates mounted on both sides of the mill and an emergency stop on top of the unit. A safety guard is installed over the top of the rolls for added security.
Brabender is based in South Hackensack, N.J.
