GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. (Sept. 1, 3:40 p.m. ET) — Injection molder N-K Manufacturing Technologies LLC is expanding into the southeastern U.S. and adding extruded sheet capabilities by buying the operational assets of a Kentucky company.
N-K, based in Grand Rapids, Mich., also is picking up new business in the medial, appliance and construction businesses with its acquisition of the assets of Caldwell Industries Inc.'s plant in Louisville, Ky.
“Our markets have primarily been automotive and office furniture related areas,” said President Haig Kassouni in a Sept. 1 news release. “This acquisition helps us balance our portfolio of customers and offer more capability across the board.”
N-K has multi-shot molding, insert molding, horizontal and vertical molding along with in-mold decorating in Grand Rapids. The purchase of Caldwell's asset brings it a 65,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, 15 injection molding machines ranging in size from 50 to 600 tons and three extrusion lines ranging from 1.3/4 inches to 3.5 inches.
