CAMARILLO, CALIF. (Sept. 2, 1:15 p.m. ET) — Single-use bioreactor firm PBS Biotech Inc. of Camarillo, Calif., has acquired medical contract manufacturer Integrity CMI, which shares the same headquarters town.
Officials from either firm did not return calls seeking comment.
Integrity CMI's property in Camarillo includes capabilities for part design, injection molding, and assembly, according to Integrity CMI's web site.
Officials said in a news release that each company's facilities are located just miles apart. They will focus on reconfiguring the assets and personnel to maximize design and engineering operations and build out the manufacturing facilities.
Rapid adoption of single-use bioreactors is occurring across all stages of the bioprocess as firms use single-use technology to drive out costs in research and development and production while increasing process flexibility, operational efficiency and accelerating time to market, according to PBS Biotech.
