SUMMERLIN, NEV. (Sept. 15, 3:30 p.m. ET) — Business leaders often don't have time to think — they're always rushing from one project to the next. Great leaders take the time to learn from their experiences.
That's the advice of leadership consultant Gerald Bell, founder of the Bell Leadership Institute in Chapel Hill, N.C., featured in this week's Lessons in Leadership video.
Bell, who spoke at the Plastics News Executive Forum, advised attendees at the conference to talk to young employees — and their own children — about work, goals and passion.
In this exclusive video interview, Bell says great leaders become wise by accumulating a set of principles and experiences, conceptualizing them, and then turning them into actions.
“The key is getting people to take the time to do that,” Bell said.
