CRANFORD, N.J. (Sept. 23, 12:15 p.m. ET) — Madan Plastics Inc. is entering into a strategic alliance with Montrose Molders Corp. of South Plainfield, N.J., to produce its products. Madan has placed its own machinery up for auction.
Madan said in a statement that it “will provide Montrose Molders with injection molding sales and engineering expertise, while Montrose will provide Madan Plastics with injection molding manufacturing and assembly services.”
Montrose operates a 110,000-square-foot facility that is about a 15-minute drive from Cranford.
Madan said that although it closed its molding facility, it will continue to engineer and market its proprietary products from its Cranford location. Madan makes three trademarked products: DoughMate pizza-dough handling products, BerryMate harvesting containers and Poly-Cons hinged-lid plastic containers.
The company also said key manufacturing personnel will join the Montrose team to assure continuity of service. It did not provide further information.
Branford Group of Branford, Conn., is handling the Oct. 12 auction of surplus equipment at Madan. It includes 16 injection molding presses ranging from 88-880 tons, as well as robots, dryers and chillers.
