AKRON, OHIO (Sept. 23, 12 p.m. ET) — Experts from the world of nanomaterials will gather for a one-day conference at the University of Akron on Oct. 17.
Nanotechnology Developments and Commercialization Activities in Ohio is organized by the Akron and Cleveland sections of the Society of Plastics Engineers.
Topics include design and production of nanocomposites, nanoparticles in polyurethane foam, polymer films, ultrasonic manufacturing, structural applications and nanomaterials in wind turbine blades.
Speakers will include Art Fritts, president and CEO of NanoSperse LC of Kettering, Ohio; Jim Weir, technical services manager of Composite Technical Services Inc. in Kettering; Stan Prybyla of Breakthrough Technology Development Inc. of Brecksville, Ohio; Joe Golba, lead scientist of reactive extrusion at PolyOne Corp. in Avon Lake, Ohio; University of Akron polymer engineering professor Avraam Isayev,, Carla Leer-Lake, research engineer at Applied Sciences Inc. of Cedarville, Ohio; and Ica Manas Zloczower, a Case Western Reserve University professor of macromolecular science and engineering.
