The upcoming IPF Japan 2011 in Tokyo marks the first IPF trade show exhibit for Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Plastics Machinery GmbH — formed in 2008 when Sumitomo Heavy Industries Ltd. bought Demag Plastics Group.
Visitors to the IPF, Oct. 25-29, will see a hybrid El-Exis SP press molding flip-top closures. The press, with 250 metric tons of clamping force, will be fitted with a 16-cavity Sch"ttli mold, running a cycle time of about 10 seconds.
Sumitomo Demag is based in Schwaig, Germany. The company's U.S. unit, Sumitomo Plastics Machinery, is in Norcross, Ga.
