W. Amsler Equipment Inc., which makes all-electric reheat stretch blow molding machines, has extended its line of leak testers with a flying-head design, which the company says provides high output, flexible production and tool-free changeovers.
The leak tester uses low-pressure air to detect holes a small as 0.006-inches in diameter. It also detects fallen bottles, choked necks and blocked necks.
The new five-head unit, which runs up to 250 bottles per minute, is designed for plastic containers as large as two liters for beverage, personal care, consumer goods and other markets.
The five heads travel with the bottles along the conveyor, in a closed system. Instead of an indexing conveyor or stationary heads, the unit uses electric servo motors to control the traveling heads. Extra heads can be added to increase speed and productivity.
Amsler Equipment is based in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
