Solarsoft Business Systems announced that Plastic Age Products Inc., a Montreal-based custom injection molder, is implementing Solarsoft's ERP and manufacturing execution system (MES) for the shop floor.
Plastic Age Products' 122,000-square-foot factory has 28 injection molding machines, most of them equipped with five-axis robots, and a wide range of auxiliary equipment.
Solarsoft's Mattec real-time MEP and production monitoring system will help manage production cycles and shop-floor efficiency.
“Our legacy business system requires a lot of manual data entry and a duplication of efforts between departments,” said William Nahorniak, head of marketing and sales at Plastic Age. “There's no integration or real-time visibility.”
Nahorniak said production planning used two many resources to verify component requirements, resulting in downtime and extra expense. “Solarsoft's integration of planning, accounting and inventory information will allow us to eliminate the associated errors and lost time.” Employees and project leaders also will gain easy access to production monitoring, time to completion and shipping data.
Solarsoft is based in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
