HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (Oct. 4, 2:45 p.m. ET) — Aladdin Packaging LLC, a printer and converter of plastic packaging films in Hauppauge, N.Y., has purchased a new building for $6.1 million.
The 77,000-square-foot plant formerly belonged to Rock Tenn Co., which made cardboard packaging there.
Spokesman Ezra Lebowitz said Oct. 4 that Aladdin had outgrown its original 40,000-square-foot building in Hauppauge, as well as a small second building in which it leased space, and that it may purchase additional machinery once the move is complete this year.
The company prints on polyethylene, polypropylene, polyolefin, polyester, PVC, shrink films, metalized films and cellophane. It also makes zip-closure and side-weld bags and pouches.
Aladdin also converts bio-based films, and has cold seal capabilities, Lebowitz said.
