American Leistritz Extruder Corp. will host its annual Twin Screw Extrusion workshop Nov. 30-Dec. 1 in at its headquarters in Somerville, N.J.
The event includes classroom training and hands-on work in the Leistritz laboratory.
Topics will include high-speed energy input twin-screw extruder theory and design, a comparison to low-speed late fusion designs, screw design, techniques for dispersive and distributive mixing, devolatization, feeders and material handleing, pelletizing and gear pumps and screen changers. The hands-on demonstrations include co-rotating and counter-rotating twin screw extruders, foam extrusion and direct sheet/film extrusion.
In addition to Leistritz staff members, these industry experts will make presentations: Chris Case of Reduction Engineering Inc., Costas Gogos of the Polymer Processing Institute, Todd Messmer of SchenckAccuRate Inc., Pete Palmer of Wolock & Lott, Bill Thiele, American Leistritz founder and consultant, Michael Thummert of Leistritz in Germany, Matt Upton of Witte Pumps & Technology LLC and Tim Womer of TW Womer & Associates LLC.
Registration costs $780 before Nov. 4 and $880 after Nov 7. The price includes handout materials, lunches and dinner on the first day.
