Demag Plastics Machinery (Ningbo) Co. Ltd., which makes injection presses in China, won the Ringier Technology Innovation Award, recognizing its activeDrive feature that helps reduce energy consumption. The feature is available on the Systec C hydraulic press line.
The feature dynamically adjusts the output of the hydraulic drive. The press also uses an electric screw drive and an insulated barrel jacket, to save energy
“The activeDrive ensures energy savings of up to 45 percent and helps our customers to gain an advantage over their competitors,” said Markus Stadler, head of technology at the company in Ningbo, China. This marks the first time the press maker earned the Ringier award, which recognizes significant contributions for advancement of the plastics industry through increased productivity, economic efficiency, market opportunity and the manufacturing process.
The company's parent is Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Plastics Machinery GmbH, based in Schwaig, Germany.
