LEVALLOIS, FRANCE (Oct. 13, 4 p.m. ET) — French automotive supplier Plastic Omnium Auto Exterior, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cie. Plastic Omnium, has signed a deal to buy Plastal Poland.
Terms were not disclosed. The deal includes two plants, in Gliwice and Poznan, Poland. The plants employ 600 and had 2010 sales of more than 60 million euros, according to Levallois-based Plastic Omnium.
The plants supply Fiat, Volkswagen, BMW, Audi and Ford.
Swedish auto supplier Plastal Holding AB filed for bankruptcy in 2009 citing a severe liquidity crisis. This agreement remains submitted to the approval of the Polish antitrust authorities.
In Eastern Europe, Plastic Omnium already has plants in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
