WILMINGTON, MASS. (Oct. 17, 12:55 p.m. ET) — Trexel Inc. has moved into a new headquarters with increased space for technology and part development, along with new and updated equipment.
The company, which created the MuCell microcellular foaming technology, is now based in a 19,000-square-foot facility in Wilmington, Mass., about six miles from its previous site in Woburn, Mass.
“Not only do we have a larger manufacturing area within our new facility, but we have included a new technology center to better help our customers with their process and application development work,” said President and CEO Steve Braig in an Oct. 17 news release.
The center has 6,000 square feet of work space, with three injection molding machines, one of them a new 500-ton Krauss Maffei press. Other presses and processing equipment were also upgraded as part of the move, officials said.
The MuCell process is seeing increased use in North America, with new applications in the auto industry. The new technology and manufacturing center will give customers more opportunities to develop methods for introducing MuCell in their parts, the company said.
