PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 25, 3:45 p.m. ET) — Chemtura Corp. subsidiary Great Lakes Solutions has acquired CC Crump Ltd. of Deeside, Wales, to support and strengthen its bromine International Standards Organization shipping tank business. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
CC Crump specializes in the maintenance and inspection of lead, nickel and plastic-lined bromine ISO vessels, as well as bromine transfer activities. In addition, the firm offers specialized lead welding services and vessel construction capabilities.
“We have made, and continue to make, significant investments in our bromine ISO fleet,” Anne Noonan, Great Lakes' president, said in an Oct. 25 news release. “Acquiring CC Crump's know-how will enhance our ability to serve our global bromine customers and allow us to continue to deliver on the promise of being the premier supplier to the industries we serve.”
Philadelphia-based Chemtura announced the Great Lakes Solutions brand name at K 2010. Chemtura was formed in 2005 by the merger of Great Lakes Chemical Corp. and Crompton Corp.
West Lafayette, Ind.-based Great Lakes markets Chemtura's flame-retardant, brominated performance products and fumigants.
