H. Müller Fabrique de Moulds SA, a Swiss company known for its in-mold-labeling automaton and tooling systems, now is supplying high-speed takeout robots for non-IML thin-wall packaging applications, as well.
Thomas Federer, sales and marketing director, said the servo-driven takeout robot uses a strip stroke to remove parts from the mold. Other high-speed takeout robots use air to pop the parts out of the mold into receiving baskets on the end-of-arm tooling, but that can cause problems if the baskets break, he said. They also have to be changed when molding different-sized parts.
The company highlighted the news at the recent Fakuma trade show in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
The Müller robot can run containers in a range of sizes, and can be changed out quickly on single-face or stack molds.
Federer said another feature is dynamic vacuum control.
Intrusion times range from 0.35 to 0.7 seconds, depending on the size of the container and the robot stroke.
Müller is based in Conthey, Switzerland. Its North American agent is Fame Technology Solutions of South Elgin, Ill.
