COVINA, CALIF. (Nov. 2, 3 p.m. ET) — Leslie Jay Cohen, senior vice president of new business development and strategic technology with Hitco Carbon Composites Inc., will receive the George Lubin Award from the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering.
This is SAMPE's highest honor, and recognizes significant contributions in the field of material and process engineering. Since the award's inception in 1986, only 14 people have received the distinction. Cohen is the first since 2006.
Cohen will receive the award at the SAMPE Fellows Banquet on May 21 in Baltimore at the SAMPE 2012 Conference and Exhibition.
Covina-based SAMPE will also honor two fellows at the banquet: Ben Wang, director and professor of Florida State University's High Performance Materials, and Luigi (Gino) Torre, a professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Perugia, Italy.
