Battenfeld-Cincinnati Austria GmbH is making news in Europe and Asia.
At the international WPC conference, being held Nov. 8-10 in Vienna, the company is coextruding wood-plastic composite decking on a fiberEX 92 line tied to a smaller fiberEX 38.
Tooling and the material was provided by Beologic NV, a Belgian wood-plastic polymer producer.
The extruder maker also is showing a housing system made entirely of WPC, pioneered by Delta Wood. The homes are designed for shelters and low-budget housing, for example in Central and South America, or areas struck by natural disasters.
Meanwhile, in Germany, Roplasto Systemtechnik GmbH & Co. GK, a vinyl window profile extruder in Bergisch-Gladbach, began running a Battenfeld-Cincinnati EX 93-94 D twin-screw extruder earlier this year.
Romeo Kovac, Roplasto's managing director, said he likes the extended processing unit, easy access to all components and easy, intuitive operation. Roplasto runs a total of 30 extrusion lines.
The twinEX is the first extruder series jointly developed after sister companies Battenfeld and Cincinnati companies joined together in 2010. The new machine boasts a 14 percent increase in performance, with a new four-shaft drive to yield a high torque and a consistently high output, according to the company.
A longer pre-heating zone in the processing unit ensures even heating and gentle working of the material, with reduced energy input.
In Vietnam, Haiphong-based pipe extruder Tien Phong Plastic Joint Stock Co. showcased its new KryoSys extruder for large-diameter polyethylene pipe, at an open house in August.
The GreenPipe extrusion line include a monos+ 90-37D single screw extruder, a KryoS 63-1200 pipe head, a CE 30 coextruder for color striping, downstream equipment for pipe as large as 48 inches in diameter.
Battenfeld is based in Bad Oeynhausen. The Cincinnati extruder business is in Vienna.
