MUNDELEIN, ILL. (Nov. 17, 12:50 p.m. ET) — Hans Karnstedt, vice president of operations at Lakeland Plastics Inc. in Mundelein, died from a heart attack on Nov. 5.
Karnstedt, a 35-year plastic industry veteran, worked his way up the ranks at Porth Plastics, now Pexco, until joining Lakeland Plastics in 1996.
“His experience and knowledge helped Lakeland Plastics expand its capabilities and enter into new industries and he will be missed by all those whose lives he touched,” Lakeland Plastics said in a news release.
Karnstedt, who was 54 years old, was a 1980 graduate of Illinois State University. He is survived by his wife Julia and sons Paul and Matt.
