NASHUA, N.H. (Dec. 13, 1:15 p.m. ET) — Thermal camera maker Flir Systems Inc., and Extech Instruments, its subsidiary that makes handheld test and measurement instruments, have moved their commercial operations into a new single headquarters in Nashua.
The move helps Flir and Extech accommodate strong growth and serve customers better. They are both moving to New Hampshire from Massachusetts — Flir's Commercial Systems division was in Bellerica, Mass., and Extech was in Waltham, Mass.
Flir makes infrared thermal-imaging cameras, used in the plastics and other industries to monitor parts and production equipment. Extech makes a broad range of handheld measuring devices, including electrical testers and instruments that check humidity, airflow, temperature and sound levels.
In January, the Infrared Training Center will move to the Nashua headquarters. The center offers thermography courses and certification.
