TROISDORF, GERMANY (Dec. 14, 2 p.m. ET) — Germany's Reifenhäuser GmbH & Co. KG says the 2010-11 tax year was its “most successful business year of all time”, with both sales and new orders experiencing double digit increases.
The company says that sales revenue increased 12 percent, while new orders were up by more than 50 percent.
Spokesman Ulrich Reifenhäuser said in a statement: “We wanted to emerge from the crisis stronger than before and there is no doubt that we have accomplished this goal. The Reifenhäuser's group flexibility to respond to specific market situations has proven very successful in these dynamic times thanks to a strong focus of our independent companies on a product-orientated approach.”
The company singled out India as a particularly strong market, as last year it benefitted from the country's rapidly growth flexible packaging market. Reifenhäuser won several new customers, including Mother Dairy, a Delhi-based co-op.
Looking forward, Reifenhäuser did not give a specific growth estimate but said “the chances to even outperform the top results of the previous business year are not too bad.”
