CLEVELAND (Jan. 6, 11:45 a.m. ET) – Urbanization and away-from-home food spending will drive global growth in the foodservice disposables market, according to a new market study.
The market will grow 5.4 percent per year to reach $53.3 billion in 2015, according to Cleveland's Freedonia Group Inc.
Disposable serviceware including single-use cups, dinnerware and utensils will remain the largest product type in the segment, while the fastest growth is expected from disposable packaging including foodservice containers, lids and domes, wraps, bags, and trays.
Geographically, North America will remain the largest market, but growth will be faster in the Asia/Pacific, which will see annual growth of 7.7 percent between 2010 and 2015, to $17.72 billion.
World Foodservice Disposables, a 391-page report, costs $5,900.
