Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd. has promoted two of its top sales executives in North America and Asia to global vice president positions.
Husky promoted Gerardo Chiaia — currently head of the firm's Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa sales group — to vice president of global sales for beverage systems.
Mike Urquhart, now vice president of sales for the Americas, has been named vice president of global sales for packaging systems.
Chiaia and Urquhart will continue to serve as members of Husky's executive team.
“By taking a market-focused approach within our sales organization, we are aligning ourselves to more effectively respond to customer needs,” said John Galt, Husky's president and CEO.
The promotions follow Husky's announcement in October that it has formed a dedicated organization for its hot-runner and controller business. The Bolton-based injection press maker has completed the transition of its global sales force to a market-based organization.
Chiaia joined Husky in 1996. He has held a number of leadership positions throughout the firm's operations, marketing and sales organizations. He was named Asia-Pacific president in 2007, then in January 2010, was promoted to sales leader for Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Urquhart joined Husky in 1980, and has served in a number of executive positions, including as sales vice president for the Americas since 2010.
