Kyowa America Corp. is closing its Waynesburg, Pa., plant and consolidating production in Tennessee.
The Westminster-based firm notified state officials of the pending closure in a Feb. 7 notice.
The injection molding facility will close by the end of July and eliminate 110 jobs — 85 permanent employees and 25 temporary workers.
Kyowa America, part of Tokyo-based Kyowa Electric and Chemical Co. Ltd., had already cut production at the plant when prime customer Sony Electronics Inc. moved production to Mexico. However, Kyowa had continued making auto parts in Pennsylvania.
Tennessee is closer to Kyowa's automotive customers' production base, the firm said.
