AVON LAKE, OHIO (Feb. 29, 4 p.m. ET) — Compounding leader PolyOne Corp. has opened an expanded innovation center at its plant in Suwanee, Ga.
The expansion includes new testing equipment for cast film, blown film and thermoforming, as well as new twin-screw extrusion capacity, officials with Avon Lake, Ohio-based PolyOne said in a March 1 news release.
The expansion and new equipment strengthen PolyOne's ability to work with customers to improve products and reduce product development time, the company said.
A cost estimate for the expansion was unavailable. The Suwanee plant is one of PolyOne's major production sites for color concentrates.
PolyOne had sales of $2.9 billion in 2011 and ranks as North America's largest compounder and concentrates maker.
