Honeywell International has new industrial-grade barrier films for applications that require a high degree of moisture protection.
HydroBlock films are fluoropolymer materials that offer extreme moisture resistance, high clarity and better performance at a lower cost than conventional films, according to the Morris Township, N.J., company.
“The same quality and dependability that has made Honeywell a leader in pharmaceutical and food packaging films is now available in an industrial-grade product,” states Perry Fan, global business manager for the firm's flexible packaging business.
HydroBlock is suited to laboratory bench covers, sensor casings and protection against graffifi, the firm claims. Besides moisture barrier, it offers high resistance to chemicals, low temperatures, odors and ultraviolet light, promising outdoor uses such as signage.
HydroBlock is a polychlorotrifluoroethylene film that is more cost-effective than fluorinated ethylene propylene and polyvinylidene films. It is not intended for food or medical applications.
